I actually bought my hardware according to the least technical hassle possible with OSX.
I would always stick to pro audio interfaces for making serious music productions.
You should still be able to find the thread on here when you do a search for Sigmatel.īTW I virtually never use the onboard sound anyway. After doing the usual suspects - like chown and chmod - it worked straight away. As far as I remember (it's been a while since I installed OSX86 on that machine) I got the Sigmatel to work with a kext I found here on IM. And, yes, an SOS article on DP and on-board sound would be very helpful, but i can't find it. Now, i'm thinking the new kernel could be the problem, right? Could you PM, post, or e-mail me your kernel (mach_kernel)? Thanks a lot. I downloaded one called "latest.zip" from the AppleHDA thread. So, someone else said to change the kernel. How did you get the sound to work? You used AppleHDA patcher, right? Did it work instantly for you? At first, i kept getting a kernel panic "you need to restart your computer" I read that i have to boot with "-legacy" and it should work.
Actually Sigmatel 9223 is quite newer than 9200, and from your specs, your PC is newer than mine.
